[UPDATE on September 2, 2024]: The Hack Club Arcade had ended on August 31, 2024, although the Arcade shop will be open until September 5!

What is Hack Club?

Hack Club is a global network of high school coding clubs where students come together to learn and build projects in a collaborative environment. It was founded in 2014 by Zach Latta and was aimed ‘to help as many teenagers as possible fall in love with computers and electronics’. The ‘hack’ in ‘Hack Club’ doesn’t stand for ‘hacking bank accounts’, but to be creative and work on projects, whether it’s hardware or software.

The Arcade

The Hack Club Arcade is a very fun event where high schoolers (or younger) can use their creativity and technical skills. You can make cool projects, such as creating your own PCBs, building a website, coding a tool or a game, or developing an app. You can join the Hack Club Slack and use /hack, /hour or /arcade in the #arcade channel in the Hack Club Slack and log your working hours. For every hour spent on a project, you earn a ticket. These tickets can be exchanged for prizes, including Yubikeys, iPads, MacBooks, and more. The core of Arcade is all about building, documenting, and ‘shipping’ open-source projects.
