Introduction
When it comes to building and managing websites, WordPress is my go-to platform. Although I haven’t used any other website builders or content management software, I have heard that WordPress is great and now I like it. Were you confused when I mentioned these two words about website builders and content management software (CMS for short)? CMSs are more complex, manage the website’s content and allow for full customisation but require at least some coding skills. Website builders are simpler platforms that provide the tools to build the website visually but have limited options and features. An example of a CMS and website builder is WordPress and Wix, respectively.
Oh ok. Let’s get back to the topic: The Ten Reasons Why I Use WordPress:

1. User-Friendly Interface
WordPress offers an easy-to-navigate interface, making it accessible and easy-to-use for all people from beginners to experts. Although it might take some time for you to learn how to use it.
2. Lots of Customisation Options
There are tens of thousands of plugins and themes availiable for users to download and use for free. These plugins and themes can add extra functions to your site and/or change the look of your site.
3. SEO-Friendly
WordPress is designed with SEO in mind, helping your site rank higher in search engine results. Plugins like Yoast SEO and Rank Maths (I use it) make optimising your content even easier.
4. Strong Community Support (And Open-Source!!)
The WordPress community is very large and active. If you need help with a technical issue or want to learn new tips and tricks, there’s always someone ready to assist.
5. Regular Updates
WordPress is constantly being updated to improve security, add new features, and enhance performance, ensuring your site stays current and secure.
6. Flexibility
Whether you’re building a blog, an e-commerce site, a portfolio, or a business website, WordPress can handle it all. Its flexibility is one of its greatest strengths.
7. Cost-Effective
WordPress itself is free, and most themes and plugins are also available at no cost. Even premium options are often affordable, making it a cost-effective solution for website creation.
8. Mobile Responsiveness
Most WordPress themes are designed to be mobile-responsive (like the one I am using), ensuring your site looks great on any device, which is important in today’s world where many people access the Web on their mobile devices.
9. Scalability
As your site grows, WordPress can also grow with it. You can start with a simple blog and expand to a full e-commerce site without needing to switch platforms at all.
10. Security
WordPress takes security seriously, with regular updates and a wide range of security plugins available to protect your site from threats.
